Abstract

The introduction of ideological and political content into teaching is of great significance in helping students shape correct worldviews, outlooks on life and values. However, at present, there are widespread issues in college teaching, such as weak correlation between ideological and political content and professional logic, insufficient teacher awareness, monotonous teaching methods and low student participation. In response to the problems that have emerged in the process of implementing ideological and political education in courses at colleges and universities, this paper takes the professional english course as an example to explore new methods for implementing ideological and political education in courses from four dimensions: improving teaching methods, excavating ideological and political elements, building a professional team, and establishing a teaching resource library. It also provides new ideas for broader approaches to the construction of ideological and political education in courses.
