This study develops and validates a four-dimensional employability evaluation model for university students in Beijing using a mixed-methods approach. The model, comprising professional competence, transferable skills, professional ethos, and career adaptability, was tested with survey data from 783 students. Results indicate that while students excel in foundational knowledge and ethics, significant gaps exist in strategic career planning, complex problem-solving, and adaptability. The validated model provides a diagnostic tool to inform curriculum reform and student development, aiming to better align graduate competencies with the demands of a metropolitan innovation economy.
