Abstract

China’s teacher education system has entered a new development stage, and the country is also pushing forward with digital education reform. Under such background, teacher‑training colleges need to raise their requirements for students’ overall abilities. Chinese painting carries forward our traditional culture and serves as a key part of art‑related teaching. Any art teacher working in primary or secondary schools needs to grasp this fundamental skill. Teachers seldom offer targeted guidance for individual students. Teaching assessment methods are too simple and single. The courses fail to fully reflect the characteristics of teacher training, and digital teaching tools are rarely used in daily classes. This study takes the Chinese painting course of Fine Arts major in Lingnan Normal University as the research subject. It explores the theoretical basis, practical difficulties and specific implementation methods of applying AI technology to update Chinese painting courses. Based on the actual teaching situation, this paper puts forward practical reform plans from three key aspects: classroom teaching modes, teaching resource construction and student evaluation systems. It aims to provide a workable and promotable reference model for the curriculum reform of Chinese painting and other traditional art courses in local normal universities.
