This paper takes the core course 'Fundamentals of Steel Structures' in the Civil Engineering major as a research object, and, based on the course's own characteristics of engineering, practicality, and standardization, systematically explores the ideological and political elements contained in the course, including patriotism, craftsmanship, scientific thinking, professional quality, and engineering ethics. It analyzes the prominent problems in the current teaching of ideological and political education in the course and proposes a four-in-one deepening path of 'theoretical foundation, case empowerment, methodological innovation, and evaluation safeguarding.' Combined with teaching practice, it constructs a practical and verifiable system for ideological and political education, providing theoretical reference and practical models for the reform of ideological and political education in civil engineering courses, and contributing to the cultivation of high-quality applied engineering talents who possess both professional competence and national sentiment.
