As higher education becomes more widely popular, the phenomenon of college students' truancy is becoming more and more common, among which the hidden truancy should be paid more attention to because of its covertness and universality., Hidden truancy not only has a significant impact on a student's academics, but also restricts the improvement of teaching quality in universities. It has been shown that hidden truancy is significantly positively correlated with self-control, and parenting style has a certain relationship with students' self-control ability. This study aims to explore the influence of parenting style on college students' hidden truancy behavior and the mediating role of self-control in this relationship. Through the questionnaire survey method, data were collected from about 300 college students in a certain city, and descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and mediation effect analysis were used to reveal the relationship between parenting styles, self-control and hidden truancy. It was found that parenting style had a significant effect on college students' hidden truancy, and self-discipline served as an intermediary in this outcome.
